Inheriting his parents' fortune upon their passing, Abraham exhibited remarkable humility and charity. Entrusting a friend to manage his wealth, he distributed half of his inheritance to the poor, embracing a life of simplicity and asceticism.

Despite his desire for solitude, Abraham's reputation as a wise counselor and spiritual guide attracted many seekers to his doorstep. His influence extended even to the Bishop of Edessa, who sought his aid in converting the idolatrous city of Beth-Kidunaia.
